Our expert guides will introduce you to the history of cocoa while you explore some of the city's most emblematic modernist streets and landmarks

Barcelona, the great capital of Modernism, is home to works of visionary architects, such as Antoni Gaudí, Lluís Domènech i Montaner and Puig i Cadafalch, whose creativity brought colour, imagination and life to the city. As you stroll through these vibrant streets, you'll learn how chocolate became intertwined with Barcelona's artistic culture.

During the tour, you'll visit several prestigious chocolate houses in the fashionable Eixample district of the city, each offering you a taste of their finest creations.

  • At Cacao Sampaka, you'll learn about the origins of cocoa, the harvesting process and the 'graduation' of chocolate bars, followed by a tasting of three varieties.

  • At Casa Amatller, a Modernist treasure, you'll discover the building's connection to the world of chocolate and enjoy one of its traditional specialties, such as the bonbon or the classic 'catania'.

  • At Chocolat Factory, perched near the Jardinets de Gràcia, you'll be introduced to the fundamentals of cocoa culture and sample some of their signature products.

Our tours typically last around an hour and a half and offer a perfect blend of culture, architecture and gourmet tasting. Led by professionals passionate about chocolate and Barcelona's artistic heritage, the experience is an ideal way to unwind and enjoy the city in a way you might never have imagined.
